Lily Lolo Pressed Blush and Baby Buki | Review

Hey!
Today I have a review about a blush* and a brush* from Lily Lolo - a brand absolutely new for me, so I was excited to try their products and get a general idea about the brand.

Lily Lolo is a British brand, that specialises in mineral makeup and generally wearable shades (read more about them here). Their packaging and overall 'look' are very minimalistic and therefore fit perfectly with today's trends.
If it wasn't for topbeauty.lv I would've not found Lily Lolo - they kindly offered me to pick something from their website and recommended the blush in this shade as one of their best sellers and I can really see why - 'burst your bubble' is such a nice and natural shade and I believe it should fit perfectly to almost any skin tone. Since it's spring, my skin is fairly light and the blush adds a rosy-orange colour to my cheeks and combined with the perfectly milled, silky texture it is a true gem for any natural looking makeup lover. I was a little surprised by the small size of it - the pot is rather petite looking and holds 4g of the product, but I think it's a good thing, because let's be honest - how often do you actually use up a blush? Although I was told that technically mineral makeup doesn't have an expiry date, it's nice to know that the small amount should be finished before it starts to smell funny. Oh, and I have to mention the aroma, as it really does smell funny :) my associations are donuts or just fried dough in general, so make sure you test it before buying if you're sensitive to perfumed make-up.

The baby buki brush is a very soft and dense little brush that truly owns the 'baby' part of the name. I tried using it to apply the blush and I wouldn't say it was the most comfortable way, however it's perfectly gentle to pat powder under my eyes.
In summary, I have to say that Lily Lolo has been a great find and I certainly recommend for you to try something from them yourself.

Three Easy Looks with Easiest Nudes Ever | Review

Hei!

pinky swear + quick, look busy

r.s.v.p. + thanks a latte

and personal favourite - no pressure + call my buff

Hey!
Today I have prepared a short summary about my new Benefit neutrals palette, which was a spontaneous purchase, but I cannot say I completely love it.
The cream shadows are wonderful - blend like a dream, pigmentation is buildable and both shades wearable and 'easy'. They also last throughout the day and look amazing even after the 9-5 routine.
However, powder shadows were quite disappointing - the darker shades are very hard and practically impossible to blend nicely, 'quick, look busy' looks like mud on my eyes, but 'thanks a latte' is a very beautiful light chocolate. The Light shades are kinda 'OK' - nothing spectacular but 'call my buff' is a nice shimmery vanilla.
And as promised, three simple looks for everyday.
Would I but two cream shadows for 26 euros? Probably not, but still it is nice to have something light and ready for travelling, since before this one, my only nudes palette were Urban Decay Naked.

from left: pinky swear, call my buff, thanks a ltte, quick look busy, r.s.v.p., no pressure

Kas ir jūsu mīļākā neitrālo toņu palete? Vai tomēr izvēlaties mono ēnas?

February 2016

Hei!

Hey!
Sunny pictures for sunny spring :) The shortest month made me buy quite a lot of new stuff, but I did use up some things as well:
Rimmel Stay Matte transparent powder - this crashing was like a sign from the above because it was insanely old, but I did like it - although a little, but still made my mascara last longer without smudging and of course was good for an occasional face powdering as well.
EOS Cucumber hand cream - pretty much useless for wintertime, although made the cut to November favourites.
La Roche-Posay hand cream - a January favourite, this will definitely be a staple for a long time :)
L'oreal Telescopic Clean Definition mascara - the love of my mascara life, I just can't recommend it enough.
Lumene Blueberry Brow Gel - this was really good, probably going to repurchase it.
Nuxe Prodigieux ShoweR Oil - the aroma for the whole Prodigieux range is heavenly but this oil seemed more like a gel. Basically, nothing groundbreaking.
Alterna Caviar Shampoo and Conditioner (that didn't make the cut to the photoshoot :) - although amazing, Alterna is a very expensive brand that I'm not buying any time soon. The set made my hair look amazing and the aroma was very enjoyable.

On to the favourites!
I have already written how amazing are NYX Cream blush and Kiehl's Creme the Corps here and here, but Aussie 3 Minute Miracle is a new fave - I love the aroma, the effect and the very handy tube as well, and it leaves my hair looking on point ;)
In my last post I mentioned Essence Brow gel - it is lighter and more grey than the Lumene one above, but lasts just as well. Like promised, Essence contains fibers but I didn't really notice my brows looking fuller. Overall, my only complaint is that the brush takes too much product and it would amazing if Essence made the tube smaller on top.

Books:
I really loved Jules Verne a few years ago, but Around the World in Eighty Days, somehow had managed to slip my read list. I guess the plot of such a classic doesn't need to be told, so I'm just going to say I loved Phileas Fogg's punctuality (I wish I was so time savvy and organised) and the light sarcasm in Verne's writing. If you have yet to read it, I definitely recommend you start sooner!

Kas bija jūsu februāra mīluļi?
